Purdy & Powerful | 2017 Dodge Charger Pursuit

Emergency Decals provides police graphic kits for departments all over the country. We take pride in creating a look and feel that your force can take pride in. Here on our blog, we like to talk about how various police car makes and models compare in terms of performance. One of the most popular police responders we work with is the Dodge Charger Pursuit. Ever since the Dodge Charger came back after years on hiatus, they’ve developed into a vehicle that not only looks good & goes fast, but makes for a great police car. Here are just a few of the highlights of what makes the Dodge Charger one of the most popular choices of Police fleets in the U.S.

Under the Hood

The 2017 Police Edition of the Dodge Charger offers a choice of a 3.6L V6 engine with 292 horsepower, or, for even more highway speed capability, a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine with 370 horsepower. Talk about muscle. The Charger Pursuit takes fuel cost into account with the 8 cylinder, featuring Fuel Saver Technology that deactivates 4 cylinders when unneeded. All the Pursuits come rear wheel drive, with all-wheel drive also available.

Outside of looking totally badass, with some serious muscle under the hood, Dodge created it’s Charger Pursuit with some pretty cool safety features. The frame itself is created fromsteel with a construction frame built into the walls that help to protect against impact, and exceed federal mandates for strength. Front door panels that are bulletproof are also available to help keep officers safe, as well as front and rear crumple zones that are specially designed to absorb energy away from any passengers.

Special Features

The interior of the vehicle is designed with the modern police officer in mind. The Charger Pursuit offers all sorts of integration for law enforcement systems, starting with the 12” UCONNECT touchscreen, which can be operated with gloves and in extreme temperatures for officers in the winter. The new and improved systems interface module is all set up for any sort of equipment integration. The seats
are built with belt-mounted gear in
mind, allowing for a comfortable ride.
